Due to the recent pandemic, many of our students lost a significant amount of quality and hands on instructional time. This year, as we welcomed students back into the classroom, we noticed a large gap in the social, emotional, and academic learning of our scholars. This year, we are working extremely hard to close this gap and move students to where they need to be to move forward and be successful in the grades ahead. This is possible with effective and engaging resources that I can easily supplement into a lesson or a center activity. The educational books and phonics resources I have requested will greatly assist my students who have fallen behind, specifically in the area of foundational reading. I have every intention of making sure my students are reading by the time they leave my classroom this year and these resources will help me integrate more engaging, challenging, and hands on reading activities into my whole group and small group lessons.
