I am requesting six sets of blue-bots which are programmable robots that will enhance students' learning in all content areas. The kids will have to solve a problem and code the bot to navigate to the correct answer. This will create opportunities to for students to take their thinking and learning to a higher level. Students will explore multiple topics which may include (but are not limited to): math facts, sight words, letter sounds, colors, 2D and 3D shapes, and vocabulary. One of the topics I am most excited to implement is learning directions and creating a map of our personal town and community. Kids will have to give the bot various directions to get to designated destinations throughout our small town. The options are endless, however - multiple topics, ages, and abilities. These blue-bots have the capability to connect through bluetooth, and we are fortunate to have an iPad for each student in the class! This opens up many more options! I have seen my students working with one bee-bot (similar item without bluetooth capability) doing math facts with our support staff. The excitement, discussion, and comradery was amazing that I want all my students to have this opportunity! As students all learn in a variety of ways, these blue-bots can reach all types of learners!
