In my high school resource math classroom, I teach multiple students who each have very specific needs. The alternative seating helps the students feel a sense of accomplishment by being able to choose a part of their environment. The wiggle seats help my active students find a way to focus on the lessons I am teaching. The oversized seating allows my XL students to sit on something that actually supports their height and weight. Unlike traditional chairs, the alternative seating gives them the ability to learn in a comfortable environment. I have noticed that my students' productivity is much higher when they are able to find comfort within my classroom. My students have struggles that many other students don't experience and if I can help them with even one small aspect of it, I consider it a win for them.
