It all started with graphic novels. Pairing up my students to read increased motivation and book completion by 200%. Reading is often seen as a solitary event, but my students want to connect with each other. The conversations around the lunch table are no longer about youtube and video games. They're talking, arguing, and laughing about characters in graphic novels. We're ready to jump to full length novels and I need pairs of books. Solitary books make for lonely readers. Pairing them up means my student will read and read together.
