The materials I am purchasing for my students will help them develop the leader within them. Through the variety of literature and nonfiction magazines, I hope to inspire my students to make a difference for the people around them and to be inspired to be the best version of themselves. As an ELA and Leadership elective teacher, I believe it is important for students to read stories about current events and struggles. It is only giving students the opportunity to read about and ask questions pertaining to what is happening around them, can they truly begin to aspire to be a leader within their community. It is my hope that when my students leave my classroom, they walk out a better person and more inspired community member.
