My students have entered school after almost two years of abnormal learning. They are falling behind in their reading standards and need additional support to catch up in this two year gap. My looking to purchase books and a bookshelf that my students can grab from during reading times as well as free seating and bookmarks to create an environment that encourages students to come read. My reading nook is intended for students that are falling behind in reading levels to have a calm place where they are able to catch up and enjoy reading. This project promotes the Nevada Academic Content Standards because half of the standards in ELA is based in reading, which many of my students have seriously fallen behind in. These resources will be used to give students an opportunity to read more and increase the gap in reading levels.
