Students have returned back to school after two years in distance learning due to COVID-19. They struggle staying in their seats for hours. Being in distance learning helped me see some of those situations. Now that we are back, I want to provide a safe, learning space. This is why I would like to get social emotional resources like flash cards, snacks, coloring books, headphones, and a cuddle ball. If their needs are being met, they are engaged and ready to learn. Students need a safe space; I want to create an area when they are stressed, angry, sad, or need a break, they can go to that area and release some of that tension. Students are always asking me if they can go sit in the carpet to read, write, or study. They love being able to work away from their desks. In addition, we have 29 students this year in class. Due to COVID-19, that is not enough space for social distancing. Unfortunately, I do not have much alternative seating for the students. Thus, it would be essential to have bean bags and lap desks. They love that I invest time and dedication towards them by creating engaging lessons. This would help me build centers. My students also need additional assistance in Nevada Content Standards O.A.1 "Use the four operations with whole numbers to solve world problems" and RL.4.1 "Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text." That's why I am asking for math and ELA resources especially for TPT. In order to engage students, I also need incentives. They love prizes and getting rewarded for their hard work. I hope you are able to consider my class and give us support.
