The use of a wide variety of hands-on materials is a must in speech therapy. Each student receives individualized instruction based on their current strengths and needs. That means as a speech therapist I need a variety of instructional and motivational materials to meet all students at their level. Each of the materials requested has a specific child's need in mind. I have requested items that are needed to continue to provide each of my students with individualized instruction. My hope is to help close the gap the pandemic has caused for so many of my most vulnerable students by providing them with strong speech therapy instruction that is delivered with fidelity and expertise. I will be utilizing the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to purchase a Resource Handbook that provides a phonology curriculum for me to use with my most impaired students. The Minimal Pairs handbook and instructional tools, purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers, will be utilized with the amplification system during speech therapy. The individual manipulatives and games requested were chosen as they include many pieces to keep kids motivated while we strive for 100 accurate practices of each target during the session. While I wear the amplification system, students will listen to the minimal pairs targets that will be printed and prepared for them using the requested cardstock. Each student will have their own set of articulation targets to use during a session. Following the use of auditory bombardment with amplification, the students will begin to practice their specific targets using the building toys or a game. Each session will include 3-4 activities that allow the student to have a minimum of 25 good practices of each target. Thank you for your consideration and support.
