The corona-virus pandemic has brought many challenges to education and there is nothing better than being back to interacting face to face. Phonemic awareness is critical to reading and spelling success. Children who can not distinguish and manipulate the sounds within spoken words have difficulty recognizing and learning the necessary print=sound relationship that is critical to proficient reading and spelling success. I believe that students learn best when they are having fun and not always just completing a worksheet. From recognizing sounds to spelling words, students will be engaged working on their literacy stations.
