This would allow us to purchase sets of books in order to conduct author studies. In this project, we will be looking at how the local published authors represent themes such as bicultural teens, choice, and identity in their novels. By getting to know the author and their writing techniques, it's our hope to not only incorporate them in the students' writing, but be able to have a more engaging conversation during an author visit. At the end of the project, we will contact a local author to give a workshop on creative writing.
