We were lucky enough to acquire a bean bag chair and two trampolines for our classroom. The students loved these items immediately! As such, I would love another bean bag chair because oftentimes the children compete for the one chair that we have. Having two would help alleviate the competition and give the students an opportunity to sit together in the play area. I would like to create a safe seating area for my students to be able to collaborate and play together, while supporting their sensory needs. Having the comfy floor seat and wobble cushion would help my students with their sensory needs and provide them with fun and relaxing places to sit. We don’t have much furniture, so it is hard to structure the classroom into different sections or learning stations. A partition would be a great way for me to separate different areas from one another. For example, the play area would be visually separated from the work area. This would help the students differentiate the expectations while in each section of the classroom. Some of my students are nonverbal, so they rely on pictures and images to communicate their needs. Having an Epson EcoTank color printer would be helpful in creating colorful schedules, and picture cards. These items would help the students communicate and transition from one activity to another. All of my students are learning how to answer yes or no questions. For my nonverbal students, the use of “yes” or “no” sound buttons would be a great way for their voice to be heard!
