In the next month, my school will be getting a new music room! Many of the items on this list are to help furnish our room, making it comfortable and functional for my students. The types of non-traditional seating that have been chosen will help all of my students be successful and focused learners, no matter what their energy levels or emotions are like on a given day. The musical instruments on this list will help to grow our collection so that each student can have an instrument in their hands each day. My students love the thrill of learning about new instruments that they have never seen or played before and these can help us have those moments! Lastly, the puppets and folk songbooks are an essential part of my teaching style. Folk songbooks are a great way for students to learn about the storytelling aspect of music, and they also reinforce the literacy work they do in their homeroom class. Puppets are my favorite way to engage my students - it's like having a guest teacher in the room! My students love the puppets that we have already, and I know that adding more to the collection would just add to the fun and excitement that is building already. I hope you will consider donating to help make our music classroom a magical and inviting learning environment!
