I’d like to give my students access to a variety of materials such as clay, popsicle sticks, woodworking materials, weaving, and Magnatiles, to build and create. Through a supported studio art classroom my students can find purpose, learn new skills, explore questions, bounce ideas off one another, build something together, fail and try again all in a safe, creative environment. By giving students the freedom to choose and imagine they learn how to be an artist in their own way. Class is focused on planning, exploring, creating, revising, sharing, and then cleaning up. The students learn to be respectful and responsible with art materials.

About my class
