Early childhood is a wonderful time to get children's bodies moving. Gross motor movement benefits young learners bodies in many ways. To continue to grow and learn at an age-appropriate pace, movement must be incorporated into children's lives each day. When it is too cold or rainy children still need to move their bodies. Having materials in the classroom specifically for movement creates a special time for gross motor activity on those days that it is not possible to get outside. Movement is critical for children at school each day.
