The materials will support the continuation of our high school book club where once a month we come together to discuss what we've selected to read with passion for pleasure. Each member will enjoy adding these titles to their personal libraries. These two literary selections are on our club's wish list because they are contemporary adaptations of classic mythology told from different perspectives and considered "must-reads" and "good reads" by young, passionate, avid readers. Song of Achilles is set during the Greed Heroic Age and is an adaptation of Homer's Iliad as told from the perspective of his best friend Patroclus. A tale of gods, kings, immortal fame, and the human heart, this book is revered as "a dazzling literary feat that brilliantly reimagines Homer's enduring odyssey." Circe is an adaptation of various Greek myths, most notably the Odyssey, as told from the perspective of the witch Circe.
