Many of my students have never stepped foot inside a classroom prior to August. They are eager to learn but are having trouble with the confines of the classroom and being stuck in a chair. I feel that by allowing students to sit flexibly within the classroom they will be more productive and independent. With these lap desks students will be able to choose a spot in the classroom for them to do independent work. This allows my students to make constructive decisions on where they should sit. I feel this will help my students with decision making as well as gaining the independence that students in kindergarten need.
