Flexible seating options will allow my students to incorporate movement into an otherwise seated classroom. Because students are seated at desktop computers in my computer lab, they don't have much opportunity for movement. Movement is important to incorporate into learning for students with anxiety, attention deficit disorder, ASD, and other disorders. It also can help just plain fidgety kids focus. Seating that incorporates movement encourages students to move around, while still keeping them focused and working on their learning tasks. Many times students get into trouble for being up and out of their seats, walking around the classroom, fidgeting, and otherwise finding their own ways to move around. The wobble stools I selected will give my students that need to move around, a safe way to incorporate that into their daily learning.
