There are essential labs and STEAM activities required in each 9 weeks of teaching as listed in the M-DCPS Department of Science for Comprehensive Science 6 grade but they cannot be performed without these items. For example, Melting Ice is one from Topic 1 of the Pacing guide. It is intended for students to investigate and apply how the cycling of water between atmospheres and hydrospheres has an effect on weather patterns and climate. It uses as materials, thermometers, string rods, 400ml beakers, tongs, hot plates and more' but we do not have these. This is just one of the labs. The other labs also require other different materials to use.
