In this community where children have limited access to technology, the Kindle Fire tablets will allow my students to use the technology as a tool to access knowledge and develop their speech skills. Students can access text and written information by using the text-to-speech feature in the Kindle Fire tablets. This feature will support them as they listen to stories read aloud and give them opportunities to work independently. This will build reading comprehension for students who have difficulty reading fluently. Students can hear and see the text at the same time. My project will allow the speech students to receive everyday practice in building their auditory comprehension and oral and written expression!
