Students love to touch and explore everything. Having a 4-compartment sensory table will allow us to provide a wide variety of materials for them to touch and explore. For an example, we can put water in one compartment, sand in another, shells in another, and manipulatives in the final compartment. This would provide the students with the opportunity to explore how the manipulatives would react in water or in sand or in shells. Students could also combine the sand and water to explore what happens. Students will get so much hands-on learning and science exploration by having the multi-compartment sensory table, we currently have a one compartment very old sensory table that is just not that interesting to the students. I feel this will increase their curiosity and invite hands on learning and exploration.
