As a Title I school, in an area that has experienced hurricanes, flooding, school closures and reassignments, as well as the social, emotional, and economic impacts of the pandemic, many of our parents struggle to make ends meet, and do not have the means to buy adequate school clothing. In addition, parents may be unable to leave work or may lack transportation to bring a change of clothing to the school when needed. As our students are faced with many challenges in their environment, our goal is to remove barriers to learning by providing support for the basic need of clothing. Replenishing our clothing closet will offer this support for children in financial and emergency need. Currently, our strongest need is for shirts and pants of various sizes, (Sizes 5-16), for students who may have an accidental spill or stain, or come to school with inadequate clothing.
