In biology, attention to detail is incredibly vital to understanding concepts. A color printer will allow me to provide more accurate and engaging diagram, manipulatives, and models. These items are used to enrich students learning through exploration and hands on activities. Some examples of manipulatives that I would utilize the colored printer for are matching cards for topics such as genetics and cell division, or creating models of DNA. These lessons simply cannot be retained when taught through black and white images. When images are in color, students feel a desire to examine them closer, which increases exposure to the topic overall.
