The students at P186X are special needs students that deal with academic, social and emotional problems. I teach 12 middle school science classes a week, pushing into other teachers' rooms. These students are 6th - 8th graders that have short attention spans and struggle with behavior and completing task they are given. This makes it extremely difficult to teach and assess the students because of their inability to stay engaged and complete written assignments or special projects. I would like to provide students with devices that give them access to the internet. These devices will give students autonomy, allowing them to complete assignment at their own pace. The students at P186X will gain access to online quizzes, videos, reading material (talking books for students that struggle with reading on grade level), and the ability to do group and independent research.
