Our world is growing and so are our chances to learn from each other. With this project, I will be able to provide age appropriate books to my students in grades Kindergarten through 5th to explore different, lesser known holidays celebrated by their own classmates. These books will not only freshen the library shelves but will also freshen and broaden the minds of my students. Some students will finally get to have pride about the holidays they celebrate at home, but their classmates have never heard of. Even more so, some of these celebrations have deeply important origins that rarely get discussed in schools. The books in this project will address those roots in an age appropriate way. I will use these books to curate displays, create grade level lessons and open up conversations about how something "different" can be so fun!
