These tools will help my students to develop their listening and speaking skills. These tools are the Ramp Balls Exploration Set, Design Build Engineering Centers, Magna-Tiles Set, and The Billy Goats Gruff Problem Solving STEM Kit. My students will be able to use these tools to participate in collaborative conversations among peers about topics in first grade (ELA SL.1.1). Also, by engaging in collaborative conversations, they will need to be able to take turns speaking and listening (ELA SL.1.1.A). Additionally, they will need to be able to listen to ask and answer questions about information read aloud using the headphones for their iPads (ELA SL.1.2). Finally, they can build on each other's conversations (ELA SL.1.1.B) using these tools as well. These tools will help my first grade students develop their speaking and listening skills in order to collaborate with others in an educational setting.
