This project would ensure these students would have high-quality literature to read independently. At our site, we have adopted a Kindergarten through 3rd-grade school-wide foundational reading skills program to meet our struggling readers' needs. Once the students reach a certain level, they transition to books they can read themselves. We do not have the appropriate leveled books that would complement our reading program. It would be amazing if our students could choose quality, engaging literature to read independently. The books would provide our students with the practice they need to sharpen their reading skills, as well as build confidence in their reading abilities. Most importantly, they would help foster a love of reading!
