These books will help make our unit on Mesopotamia (ancient Sumer) come alive! My students love to read, which was shown through our last class novel. We just finished a story about a young boy living during the last ice age, which they really enjoyed. When I can relate what we are reading to what we are learning, it becomes a win-win! These books will help improve their literacy skills while supporting their learning about ancient history. With this story, students will be able to picture what life in ancient Sumer was really like. When they are able to transport themselves into the novels we are reading, I find that even the most reluctant readers and engaged!
