A big part of this project is leveled books which will put real books in the hands of students: yes, during this digital age we have eBooks, but a child learns best from what they can touch. This also includes math manipulatives: many students need counting blocks in the classroom to help bring their math skills to 2nd grade. This pandemic has brought the world into focus. While students were home learning on the computer, they were very isolated, but hearing about the wide world around them. The globe will help them visualize how big and small the world is as well as understand the physical relationships of different countries. Lastly, the greatest contribution COVID has had on the classroom: the importance of hygiene. Students need their own separate supplies, and it seems like they go through them faster than ever! Additionally...they are kids. They get dirty. We have to get them to clean up before they go to class. =) Sometimes sanitizer isn't enough.
