Math manipulatives support students understanding of mathematical concepts. They are able to make reasoning and visualize the concepts for themselves. My students have shown great success when it comes to understanding and retaining content when they are able to utilize their hands and visually make sense of it. An organized classroom increases engagement and academic progress by eliminating the chances of disruptive behavior and wasted time. When students and the teacher know where classroom materials and belongings are, the entire day runs more smoothly. When the classroom is warm and inviting it increases students desire to come to school. Classroom tools such as scissors, clipboards, and dry erase boards allows for a variety of instruction and instructional activities. These tools allow me to personalize learning and make small group reading instruction more engaging.
