I am choosing materials for our class that will promote diverse, fun, and engaging learning opportunities to meet all students' needs. Students will be able use these materials to master foundational skills in both language arts and math. Since most students learn by "doing", the materials will allow students to be hands-on in their learning, after coming back from a year of working from a computer. We plan to spend a great deal of time utilizing these materials to teach foundational skills and concepts in order to create confident learners. Students will be able to develop early literacy and fine motor skills by using the magic boards, scissors, mini stampers and dot art. The paint and paint brushes will be used for our project-based learning assignments, where students will create projects based on concepts learned in our reading series.
