Our students will have the opportunity to learn math not only with a pencil but with the ability to see and make visualizing the process easier. Using the flip charts for place value gives our students to really see how place value works. Once a lesson is taught the kids will be able to use the games and visual aids to create a deeper understanding of what has been taught. Seeing and touching math may make it easier for some of our more visual and hands-on students. After a lesson is taught the kids go to centers, one of the centers is "Teacher Time." Teacher time is where 6-9 kids sit at a kidney table and get a brief lesson with the teacher. We do not have extra chairs and the kids are moving them around the room. Math should not be boring, these materials will make math exciting for our students.
