I chose a learning rug for my Pre-K students for a variety of reasons. This is the gathering area for our classroom family. We use the area for morning meeting, large group lessons, reading stories and during centers. During our gathering times on the rug, the students have a designated, personal space for a learning experience they love. During centers, the rug is used for an area of comfort for playing with manipulative toys and putting puzzles together. The rug gives our classroom and overall feeling of warmth and comfort.
