Visual supports are a research based way to help students with special needs access the world around them. This means posting pictures and visual labels around the classroom environment and throughout lessons to help students navigate and understand their environment. My students often require visual support to help them cope through big emotions, manage their behaviors and learn academic skills. The Cricut will be used to help us make those important visual supports and will also help us create beautiful art projects. Since fine motor skills are a challenge some students with special needs, the circuit can be used to help cut out shapes for our little artists to create with. The Cricut will be available to all teachers at our school to help make visual supports are accessible for all student with special needs around campus.
