These materials will make a difference in the way the students view what practicing their goals looks like. The board games will integrate social skills such as turn taking and topic maintenance. The art projects and supplies will be beneficial when targeting language and speech sound goals. For instance, students can use expressive language skills to describe what they created and practice increasing intelligibility by concentrating on how to say certain speech sounds correctly. The model of the oral-nasal cavity will be useful for both children and adults (parents, teachers etc) to visualize what happens inside those cavities to aid in the act of communication. These materials will help make a world of difference in the students' motivation to improve by creating a creative and fun environment with a professional qualified to work on overall effective communication skills.
