Many of our students need a safe place to regroup by calming their mind or body. Our school has a room dedicated to just that. The Calming Room is a place where students can come for a few minutes to do a quiet activity or work. These materials and items will allow for our students to reset and recover. The materials are designed to calm and destress our students, helping them cope and can go back to learning. The items help provide for sensory input that helps reduce stress and anxiety. Self regulation is important. While students are in the Calming Room we do activities together while working on self regulation techniques for them to use throughout the day.
