After COVID, many students are struggling academically. We are seeing an achievement gap larger than before, with students not only below grade level, but feeling unmotivated to learn. By motivating students, we can close the achievement gap because they will be more willing to try.
In my project, you will see many items listed that my students have said will motivate them to try. Furthermore, these items will improve their emotional awareness and mental health by giving them something to look forward to and help them learn intrinsic motivation. To get there, we have to start with extrinsically motivating them to teach them how to work hard.
You will also see some supplies for the classroom. The multiplication cards will help us as we focus on Math standard 4.OA.4, and other operations and algebraic thinking standards involving multiplicative comparison. You will also see an Apple TV. Because my computer and iPad that the school has provided are apple, the apple tv will allow me to project various learning methods to assist my students throughout the lesson. The Apple TV will project seamlessly from either device to apply to multiple learning styles. The incentive charts will help them work toward their goal.
Thank you for helping motivate my students in being the best they can be!
