Every student learns differently. In our classroom, we have many different learning styles and personalities. My students work hard every day towards achieving the same academic goals as their general education peers. The disabilities of the students in my class include speech and language impairments, social and emotional impairments, and learning disabilities. Many of these delays have increased due to a loss of learning from when we were remote during Covid. Having ONE Chromebook to use in the classroom is already so great, and we are blessed to be able to learn code and STEM with what we already have. Having a class laptop would really open us up to using even more programs and interventions during our small groups!
Having a Chromebooks would expose my students to a different platform of technology, it would help us complete STEM-related projects, intense reading interventions, and would truly diversify our classroom technology.
When my students rotate into different learning groups I need them to work independently. A Chromebook station would be a great way for students to work together and to solve problems. It would also allow me to lead them through interventions with programs I can use on the iPad. I would be able to teach my mini lessons easily in the back of my room or hallway using the laptop screen to present to a smaller group that is struggling!
