Ms. Bukowski's Build a Library Drive According to the U.S. Department of Education, 54% of U.S. adults 16-74 years old - about 130 million people - lack proficiency in literacy, reading below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level. Additionally, a recent National Literacy Trust study, only 15.6 percent of teens age 14-16 said they enjoyed reading very much. Yet research shows students who read independently become better readers, score higher achievement tests in all subject areas and have greater content knowledge than those who do not. Rochester Academy Charter High School needs a library to improve literacy and the future of our children. Please donate now so we can purchase the books for our High School Library.
