I would like for my students to remember that once upon a time reading used to be fun. Whether it was an escape into a world they did not know or to find people who look and think like them, I want my students to read books that will bring them joy. I selected books on different reading levels with different types of characters and conflicts so my students can have a choice. I plan to host a "book speed dating" activity where students will be matched to a book that is just right for them.
