3D printing is one of our favorite learning tools! Our robotics organization currently serves sixth through twelfth grade. We have the seventh graders learning 3D modeling. 3D printing the models they produce is an excellent way to learn tolerance and see their ideas come to life. We design and print as many brackets, pulleys, gears and custom pieces as we can. We work with the students and discuss design intent and manufacturability. It's very exciting for them to be able print something that is used in a competition robot.
