According to the CDC website, covid-19 has affected the mental health negatively of our students, especially in the communities of disadvantage where my students live. I will use the VR Oculus Go headset in my "Zen Den" to provide students with a mental health support tool through its many social emotional learning apps (ex. Tripp VR mindfulness). Additionally, we are a project-based learning school, so they will reach those standards as we look do projects that involve building apps through the inspiration of the virtual reality experiences. I will utilize the fidget toys to support my students mental health and focus during instruction as tactile objects such as those can support focus and calmness. Studies show that positive increases in well being equals more positive academic outcomes. Overall, these resources will empower my students through having more tools to support their mental health.
