As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty stricken school district, I see my scholars are faced with several challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. My scholars work hard each day to work to close the gap that stands in front of them, by coming to learn and having the passion to become better. 100% of students in the entire school, qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. These LEGO kits will make a difference in my students' learning by providing them resources to enhance their STEM and teamwork skills. My students have a desire to learn about robotics and the uses of such in the real world. Robotics is a real world example of using STEM. My students will utilize the engineering design algorithm through their robotics experience. In addition, robotics provides my students opportunities to develop their skills in teamwork, presentations, design and programming.
