The funds will be used for science materials and activities, so that the students can experience the hands-on use of a microscope and see all different cell slides in the classroom setting. Last year, we were unable to conduct any scientific experiments or have any hands-on science activities, because we taught virtually due to the covid-19 quarantine. My students love to see, explore and learn about the world they live in. The standard 2-LS4-1-- Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats will be met through the materials your funds will provide to our inquisitive students. Also, the Life Science Story line standard of- "Second grade students are expected to develop an understanding of what plants need to grow and how plants depend on animals for seed dispersal and pollination. Students are also expected to compare the diversity of life in different habitats"- will be supplemented and enhanced through your generous funding. Our classroom is so fortunate to receive the scientific and phonics learning materials that will help our second graders become responsible scholars and scientists of the future!
