These books will provide windows, mirrors and sliding glass doors for my students as we learn about other cultures, people and experiences. I also love how it provides an opportunity to learn about joy for anyone. These books will lay the foundation for rich discussions. They will teach students about perspective taking, and how different people have different experiences. My native Spanish speakers will see their home languages honored and lifted up. Students will learn how important names can be to a culture or person and why pronouncing them correctly is so important.
