Materials purchased will be used for both kindergarten literacy centers and first grade reading intervention groups. Items will be used to help students learn essential skills for literacy- including learning letter names & sounds, letter formation, and decoding. Some items, such as the magnetic letters, can be used in a multitude of ways- matching letters, making words, and word work to name a few. CVC decoding, identifying initial sounds, and rhyming are crucial skills for leaning to read. The items I chose would provide engaging ways to teach and practice these skills.
