I recently discovered QR codes that connect students to a large variety of books being read by different people. My students really enjoy listening to the different stories using the QR codes. The QR codes allow me to find books that will relate to my class, especially the boys. It is very hard to find good books that my boys can relate to, so QR codes allow me to accommodate my students. The iPods will have a QR reader app that will read the codes and allow students to listen to fluent readers. After they have listened to a story they will journal about the book to verify their comprehension on the story. If you are donating to my project you will be helping to improve my students' reading abilities. By combining technology and the love of reading, this project will enhance emergent reading skills. Combining technology, books and fun is a perfect recipe for learning.
