Many of our students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Having books that they can take home to read and math games that we can play on campus will make learning more fun and engaging. Several of my students are also kinesthetic learners and prefer to work with their hands. specially when it comes to math. Getting this grant would enable me to obtain games and items that the students can take home to practice their math facts. Having games that the students can take home with them to play with their families would be amazing as well. Due to covid-19 many of our students have been forced to quarantine for several weeks and they are left with very minimal resources at home. Allowing them to take books and other learning activities home can help them not fall behind. These material will promote the following Nevada Academic Content Standards: 3.OA.A Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division. Count equal groups (3-E.1) Identify multiplication expressions for equal groups (3-E.2) Write multiplication sentences for equal groups (3-E.3) Relate addition and multiplication for equal groups (3-E.4) Identify multiplication expressions for arrays (3-E.5) Write multiplication sentences for arrays (3-E.6) L.1.2.e Spell untaught words phonetically, drawing on phonemic awareness and spelling conventions.
