My students are curious and some love to color outside the lines. So we have to think outside the box and create ways so that they can and enjoy the process of improving their fine motor skills through play. Give them these alternative sensory tools such as the wiggle pen, foam soap, putty, and other sensory-based materials. This will allow them to build their body awareness, tactile discrimination, dexterity, visual perceptual skills, and eye-hand coordination. Many kids don't have resources and these sensory tools will help my students to continue to be motivated through play and to engage and develop their fine motor skills.
