All of our students have had to face unique challenges related to COVID. For some, the access to materials were locked behind issues with technology, like trackpads malfunctioning or being able to hear what their online tools and instruction is saying. For others, access to certain materials or the use of other items, such as math games or novels, were either scarce or disorganized. All of which led to uncertainty, anxiety, and ultimately, a loss in learning. The technological materials will mitigate online instruction, allowing for a level playing field, while the hands on materials will help rebuild that love of learning. Math games will allow us to build on and continue learning in fun and collaborative ways, while the novels were specifically asked for by this group of students, so they can love reading for enjoyment again.
