Over the past year and a half, our students have become proficient in using online tools and resources, however, we cannot ignore the importance of using physical books and materials for research. We are planning cross-curricular unit focusing on how to protect endangered animals. This unit will cover standards W.3.2, W.3.7, 3.MD.C.5, 3.MD.D.8, 3-LS4-3, 3-LS2-1, 3-LS4-2 and SS.3.24. Students will research an animal of their choosing, prepare an essay demonstrating their research, plan a wildlife refuge using area and perimeter, and create a campaign to help save their animal. Students love researching their animals, but unfortunately, we do not have enough physical books for students to use. Funding this project will help us give our students a greater opportunity for hands on learning and exploration.
